The thing most people don't realise is that the EU is almost completely undemocratic, which is pretty crazy when you think about it for a minute.

On the other hand it's also no surprise considering how it evolved: a producer's cartel for the coal and steel, and later agricultural, industries.

It's a miracle it even works so well as it does.
