I'm curious what the HN community makes of "The Prophets of Science Fiction"[0] For one, I've only recently watched it, and I quite liked it and I'm looking to buy a few of the books, but googling around, I see some criticism of the connections between the sci-fi writing and the inventions they portended as being far fetched. At the same time, I would like to hear your recommendations of who you reckon to be the best sci-fi writers of today. The ones who are currently writing about things that are as inconceivable to us as moon missions were to the people of early last century, for example. Or whatever your criteria for good sci-fi is.
