You can see everything as a cult. Science, with its cultic belief that everything is a particle also just survived long enough to become normal. The question is, are members of one cult wise enough to accept other cults, or are they so insecure that they have to tag them with "NSFW"?
Incorrect science proved and proves itself everyday thru trial and error. cause and effect. Hypothesis and expirment.... To hear it compared to "faith" is offensive and absurd.
" "faith" is offensive " - and how exactly do you think most people act to science ?
Do they check every fact that they learn by experimentation?
Or do they trust/believe authority that given them such fact mindlessly?
Can we stop putting our morality and faith above another's?
Any aggressive ideology that forces it believers to censor non-believer viewpoint is ultimately self-destructive - even if you force non-believers they will not believe in it - because they never trusted it.
Science and Faith have different goals. Science figures out things, Faith helps those who are alone (And your ego hates this). Both are, in a neutral, scientific, sense, cults.
Edit: I am a bit one-sided here. Faith also is a social glue (look e.g. at the Muslims), and it actively works for spiritual self determinism. At least Buddhism, Toltecism and Scientology do.
