AI is a tool! Like any tool it is great at what it has been designed to do and not so good when attempting to use it otherwise. At the core LLMs have hoovered up the internet and made lots of statistical inferences. As a research assistant it is phenomenal. As a rational thinker not so good.

A buzz saw is great for cutting lumber; not so good for manicures.
