At this point they're unlikely to lose power unless there's a military coup dismantling the entire extreme right.

The pendulum always swings. Always. History is littered with the corpses of seemingly unstoppable movements that were invincible until they suddenly were not.

When will the pendulum swing away from repression and autocracy in Russia?

Anyone waiting for that swing has been waiting for hundreds of years, as it's gone through one flavour of despotism to another. Since Peter the Great in the 18th century, the country's had, what... Two years of freedom?

My point wasn't that justice and freedom is inevitable, but that political movements are a finite thing with a lifespan. The Soviet Union is a perfect example of what I'm talking about. Sucks that Russia wasn't able take advantage of that collapse to improve their country for the long term, but the Soviets were perceived to be invincible until suddenly they were not. Same will happen with Putin's Russia, same will happen with MAGA.

Also littered with actual corpses killed by the people trying or being successful in stopping the pendulum from swinging away from them. Its pretty clear that this administration is gearing up to do just that, and going by what the people behind it are saying (federalist society, project 2025, Yarvin and their billionaire funders) they're not afraid of bloodshed either.
