I'm a Developer. I Won't Teach My Kids to Code, and Neither Should You (2018) (slate.com)

Seems like one of those articles where an editor ignored the content then chose an annoying clickbait title.

The author talks about problem solving and curiosity. He says that adults can easily learn coding syntax. While his child is young, he wants to let the kid be curious and learn how to solve problems.

It contains a sweet story about he and his wife teaching his kid how to bake cookies.

It’s like arguing that kids should skip learning the alphabet and go straight into learning critical thinking.

The programming languages’ syntax is a foundation, but maybe soon English and other natural languages will replace them. But that wasn’t true in 2018 when this article was written.
