We've somehow had a calm few months in the industry without the daily hyperbole on AGI, superintelligence and the upcoming singularity. After the string of underwhelming incremental updates from all the top LLM publishers I guess they need to start the hype cycle again.
If the last 12 months are anything to go by, one year from now the "full AI SWEs" will be able to write all the code you probably should have used a library for anyway, and continue to be unable to do anything halfway novel without bugs.
