Looks like the business model of selling advertising space atop a bunch of search results is slowly but steadily coming to an end. I wonder what will replace it? Will we see ads being integrated into AI responses? Will we see more money flowing into social media?

Already exists. Go to bing.com/chat and type something like "i'm looking for a nice suitcase".

Seeing that AI costs 10x the compute of search (at a minimum today), unless costs come down, AI will have to go subscription or ad supported.
