Why do you get my hopes up ?

> such as that the purchase of those last two social networks, WhatsApp (one billion dollars) and Instagram (19 billion dollars)

Makes me doubt the writer's authority

It's not the despair, I can take the despair. It's the hope

Hope was the only evil left inside Pandora's box upon opening. I've always wondered about that. Giving hope is the ultimate evil, "too much" even for a divine punishment?

What are the politics behind this? It is kind of unexpected to see this happen under Trump.

Had this been in plans for years and the administration just failed to take notice and stop it? Is this the FTC trying to undermine Trump?

Maybe it is Trump's friends using the FTC against their competitors? Or, maybe using the FTC to set precedent that will insulate their business?

It's been going on for awhile. Zuck doesn't appear to be part of the in crowd to get things quickly disrupted in his favor

Important side point: Oracle wants to host TikTok for US. Ellison does appear to be part of in crowd

Trump has a warm spot in his heart for TikTok https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=NVD-kXFUAQY

Trump hates fb because of the 2020 election and what he perceives as their part in his “loss”.
