Sure, it has limits and runs into paradoxes, so what? The fact that 'we can see' the paradox but somehow maths can't, is just a Chinese-room type argument, conflating different 'levels' of the system.
If you ever had the misfortune to read The Emperor's New Mind (published 1989) you would know that he has not had a plot to lose for quite some time now.
I read it around that time and thouroughtly enjoyed it; IIRC is basically a pop-sci intro to number theory, physics, cosmology, biology, etc, with only the last couple of chapters attempting to tie it all together into the quantum-consciousness stuff.
He seems to have been stuck in that groove ever since, though.
