Whether you know the law or not, you are expected to obey the law. If society worked any other way, then all murderers just didn't know the law and we can revert to living in caves.

And anyway, who doesn't know that discrimination is illegal at work in 2025? Maybe a handful of recent immigrants from a tiny fraction of terrible countries?

There is no law requiring you to stand up for others at work. But in cases of discrimination, personally, I do. Because the law is on my side, and my employees need me to.

Your point might stand, but your example about discrimination doesn't make your point.
