The Reddis/Valkey thing has been a source of some annoyance in my world, but thank my stars there are adults in charge on both sides and there's not some manbaby threatening to burn his side down if he doesn't get his way and take his users with him.

That (end of wordpress) would actually be a good thing.

Wordpress is free software so a fork could be created, hopefully managed by a better organisation than Automattic.

It would be cool if that organisation was wp-engine… though probably a dedicated non-profit foundation would be better.
