I voted “overhyped” because some people are out there saying it is more important than the fire or whatever. These people are out of their mind (or just performing PR stunts). But I don’t think it’s a bubble.
Not in terms of value — I think it is already delivering a lot of value and it will deliver more and more —, nor in terms of finance. Some overspending VC losing their bets does not constitute a bubble. NVidia has a somewhat diversified demand in games, crypto mining and AI. And it’s not negligible the chance of the next software big thing also use GPUs.
I don’t think it will end up being more impactful to humanity than the internet itself, but it will be big and useful.
