No one removes useful options from a TUI because "whitespace is clean". No one is writing useless changes to TUIs so they can feel like their job means something or to chase some bonus. Because GUI design today is very bad and only getting worse.

When I get to read comments like this is when I feel the most heard and understood.

What you describe is pure fad-chasing, so I hope it swings back the other way while I’m still around to enjoy it.
