Show HN: I made a calculator builder to increase engagement and conversions (creativewidgets.io)

Hi HN,

I am a solopreneur in the evenings and a software engineer during the day. In the past, I have created lots of calculators for my web projects and freelancing friends. These were pretty basic, but users always welcomed them.

I also used currently available builders, but the problem was that they were either slow, broke on mobile devices, had nonsense page view limits, or were expensive. Some even ticked all those boxes.

So I have decided to create my own, with a simple interface, and called it Creative Widgets (if it ever takes off, I plan to add more exciting stuff like charts, etc, hence why generic “Widgets”).

At this point, I am after feedback. I found myself running in a circle, building features because I think they're great to have, but I would much rather have features that are wanted by users.

So, if your project/web benefits from the custom calculator, you can check it out.

Thanks everyone.

Eugen

Calculators are one of my favorite "engineering as marketing" tactics. Planning on trying it out.

Why did you choose quarterly pricing over monthly?

p.s. You should post it on product hunt and other websites targeting growth hackers and indie developers, they will find this useful.

Hey, I would love to see you trying it out.

The main reason why I chose quarterly is because a month is not enough to draw any conclusions.

Say you are a freelancer and want to increase leads. You added a calculator, but because of seasonality and traffic volatility, you can have more or fewer leads. But over the quarter, you can see the trend.

Because of the price point, quarterly pricing is not an issue; it also gives you room to experiment with the tool and fine-tune it for the best result.

I plan to put it on PH, but I don't have big hopes for it since it's a pretty "boring" app without much hype. I am working on connecting it more with AI (AI will generate a complete calculator based on your description), and then maybe it will be a bit more interesting to indie hackers.

hey I think this is very cool and I plan to try it out

Thank you. I would love to see you there, and any feedback is welcomed. Is there any particular calculator you have in mind that you want to build? I would be happy to help out with that.
