We know Apple was/is one of Google Cloud's largest customers.

So likely that the true cost to Google is significantly lower.


And might it even end up that Apple pays? Now that Google is spending over $10B per quarter on datacenter capex, as well as trying to lock up a similar deal with Apple for Bard / Gemini, perhaps Apple ends up effectively paying Google for both GPUs and a model + API.


so a quid pro quo, lol.

How does that benefit apple tho? They don't have their own data centers?


No Apple doesn't use their own data centres for iCloud, AppleTV etc.

The advantage of GCP, AWS etc isn't the servers it's the global network.
