> It's garbage as in there's no reason my mouse needs an AI prompt generator connected to a button.

I feel stuff like this is tangential evidence of a hype/investment bubble.

Also evidence that uncle Ted [1] was right about pretty much everything.

except, y'know, the bombing people part

Yes, it's sad but I imagine he'd have a very popular blog these days if he could've refrained from blowing innocent people's fingers off...

Yeah, this is a bubble if I've ever seen one. Every company under the sun is vomiting ai on their customers and the customers are all pissed about it.

nevermind the people losing jobs over this

No more logitech, razor. My latest purchase is a keychron mouse (please don't tell me their setup sw is ad/virus infested... )

i really wish keychron had a mouse similar to logitec's g500 design - 2 side buttons is just not enough (i could use 4ish for thumb and index could take another 2 or 3) - id really like to see a mouse company offer custom scales for mice and extra button locations (and qmk/via compatible). i'll keep waiting and wanting

What do you use the additional buttons for? I generally only use the forward and back buttons.

i use one of them as push to talk; others are for gaming

I'm on Windows and there is no app_permission.json in %appdata%\logioptionsplus. Has anyone successfully disabled this "feature" on Windows? I tried creating the file but it doesn't appear to have changed Logi+'s functionality in any way. I still see the annoying notification button in the app to set up the feature.

The file is in "C:\Program Files\LogiOptionsPlus"

Thank you! I found it. It's also called app_permissions.json (with an s) and not app_permission.json like in the article.

Stupid and unfortunately expected these days, but I'm not sure this is nearly as offensive than the last Razor mouse I owned that demanded I give it an internet connection to be fully functional. A fucking mouse.
