Why would you not use online editors with real time merging, like Word online and Google Docs? Going back to ye olden times of diffs seems like a nightmare

Both are even worse for data protection and would immediately leak EU data onto US servers.

You can specify which countries your data is held in.

Seems like Libreoffice needs this feature soon
