Worth mentioning that the US DOJ has an open $10M reward for info on the identities behind this with secure a TOR based reporting option

There are a number of signs starting to emerge that this campaign might be a much bigger deal than previously understood.

This response is puzzling to me. They know that a foreign government is behind it and their response is, he we'd really like to find these guys? If it had been a physical attack I imagine it would spark a war. Why ate cyberattacks taken less seriously?

Because they're less serious... A cyber attack isn't equivalent to bombing a city or invading with boots on the ground. And governments have done far worse than hacking some infrastructure without it sparking a war (eg: blowing up passenger jets, hijacking or destroying shipping vessels, assassinating officials - things where people die)

War only happens when one government thinks it is the appropriate political tool for the job and they have the means to wage it.

We can't build an electric pickle without China, there's nothing they could possibly do even if they knew exactly who did this other than lame sanctions, which thanks to SWIFT becoming obsolete, are impossible to enforce.

Don't we manufacture a lot of this stuff in China?
