Indeed, the problem is AI puts the whole education system into question. Even before AI it could have been argued (Case Against Education/it's mostly signaling etc). At this point I'm weary of putting my 5-year old through this pointless 12 year exercise, unfortunately in our country there is effectively no choice and home schooling is not allowed. If I could I would offer an environment where he could pursue any and all interest together with other kids under the guidance of competent people (and AI). Cultivating your strange passions is probably the only way to contribute and thrive in a post-AI world.
