Autopilots have been able to fly for decades? My High School friend went to Rockwell Collins and worked on them. They could fly a route from 20 feet off the tarmac to 20 feet from the landing strip. That limit was there because of regulation. The autopilots could also take off and land if allowed.

I guess we're talking humanoid robot here. But what a cost! That enormous hunk of robotics. Or an autopilot built into the plane (which expensive planes already have). Gotta be a narrow market - smaller planes but not too small.
