VS Code developed LSP to let them support as many languages as possible. Now other editors can use LSP to leverage all that work. I love this so much, because now a lot of the editors I love have top tier support for all the features that LSP offers, and they can compete on the other things they do well.

Next up: a future where every app uses Tree-sitter for syntax parsing.
