Fun that it gets this somewhat correct: https://streets.gl/#47.61580,-122.33956,33.25,4.75,335.19

Mobile devices not supported? When do most people use maps?

It was never really meant to work on mobile. Honestly, this is more of a personal playground to try out different graphics algorithms, above anything. But the mobile version is requested a lot, so I will try finding time to work on it.

usually at noon I suppose, but that's a good question

It thinks the south bay is a desert, my house has a flat roof and windows instead of a garage, and so do all of my neighbors. Not a bad theme, but not very accurate to present day. Still impressive.

If you zoom out enough, it goes back to OSM, so I wonder if it's doing a tile by tile conversion, but I wonder how it could be sped up.

You can help improve accuracy by contributing! It's not that hard and some editors are very easy to get started with, e.g. https://github.com/streetcomplete/StreetComplete (If you're on Android).

Which tag is it using to distinguish residential buildings from commercial/warehouse buildings? I thought my area was correctly tagged but this renders the whole thing as a giant warehouse park. Either the data's incorrectly tagged or this tool just doesn't support regular houses.

Sounds like it doesn’t model building types at, just tagged materials, colors, etc.
