This is a great idea. I think more introductory books should try to give context into how the topics they're introducing relate to the field and the history thereof.

Using these math ideas as Python APIs first and then explaining the why behind it, seems like a good idea before delving into the concepts if needed.

This links to the wikipedia page, which mentions nothing about it being pseudo-science. There's a section on criticisms, but I don't see how the commenter reaches this conclusion
