Ask HN: Is Moore's Law over, or not?
A law is something which is observed to be true. We're not talking about a legal law/rule that's enforced. In that sense it's one and the same.

A law of physics or nature, is something that HAS to be that way, and could not be different.

Like Newton's laws of motion? They're only observed to be true and ceases to be at relativistic speeds.
