It would be very hard to argue the same doesn't hold for given names.

With a mid-alphabet surname we named the offspring in the A-set. Couldn't hurt.

A friend has named one A- and one Z- and my partner observed he must be planning at least 2 more because there's no midpoint in an even-number alphabet.
