Why Chinese Culture Has Not Conquered US All (scholars-stage.org)

I feel like Chinese films are regressing. Their cinema is nowadays filled with so much jingoism it is like the worst US films from the 20th century.

Twenty years ago, China was dirt poor. Thirty years ago, most people in China were starving. Why do we expect China's culture to have conquered US?

you're forgetting the five thousand years of written, recorded history, culture, politics and societies that make up what China was and is. You're defining a country by it's state AFTER the effects of devastating colonial atrocities by everyone from Britain to Japan. And then ignoring how quickly China was able to rise to the very top of the global order from this place of poverty thanks to their commitment to their political system.

Today it is THAT business culture - currently infecting every corner of the world; inspiring billions and creating growth, wealth and infrastructure across the globe (not just into Western pockets). The manufactured US culture of Hollywood, the MSM, or Western social platforms is dying right now across the world. What comes next will not have a centre.
