What makes you think we need a replacement for third party cookies when we can just disable them?


It breaks legit uses of cookies. We need standard non-cookie based authentication. All browser features that enable violations of privacy need privacy respecting alternatives. Adoption cant happen until they exist.


Yeah, I've never understood this. Disabling third party cookies is the first thing I do with any new browser (uBlock Origin is second). It takes 30 seconds and very rarely causes problems.
