Get ready for a SoCalGas bill this month, as natural gas prices soar (latimes.com)

Natural gas prices are at their historic lows. Southern California energy companies are charging for “delivery fees“.

Also used to generate electricity. I'm sad they shutdown the San Onofre nuclear power plant (and that many people celebrated its shutdown)

San Onofre was shutdown because it was not economical to repair after botched generator upgrades were made. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Onofre_Nuclear_Generatin.... It is BS that customers have to pay for it's decommissioning when it was essentially wrecked by SCE.

Perhaps this nationwide price increase explains what's happened to my gas/electric bill here in Maryland. $260 for November, $420 for December, and now $570 for January.

Yeah. Same in Colorado. And of course Xcel energy just posted record profits.

Natural gas prices are not soaring, they are crashing: down >50% since mid December. WTH, LA Times?

They're using the self-reported prices. However if you have proof that SoCal Gas is cooking the books, you could probably make some money whistle-blowing to the SEC

Huh, interesting. Even down in Europe, though still high relative to early 2021.
