I would not be surprised that marketplaces and other two sided business models try to generate enough "pump priming" fake chats etc. Similar to PayPal faking ebay users or reddit having puppet accounts - chatgpt could be used to generate convincing activity on a community.
I wonder how much of the "Nigerian style scams" can be automated - that seems a bit more delicate (it would of course be "hilarious" if the one thing AI cannot convincingly do is con-artistry)
