I made this Chrome extension to highlight text written by GPT in the browser. So far it's been useful for looking at product reviews and news articles. What do you think of the concept? Anyone interested in collaborating?

It uses the ROBERTA GPT detector model. I’m paying for the hosting for a few dollars a day, but if it gets expensive I’ll have to see if Replicate or HF can host it free.

How does this work? GPT-3 generates remarkably human-like output. How can any automated system hope to identify such output without emitting thousands of false positives?

Is it connected to your OpenAI account, since you don't ask for login?

This is really useful. I am curious how it works. Is it as simple as asking ChatGPT “did you write this?”
