I don't see why this is interesting. Internet marketers have been using this strategy since the adevnt of the internet.


When Adobe markets their product as an alternative to yours, you know you're doing it right.


The parent's point is that marketing folks have always done this for every possible alternative. It has no relationship to whether Kdenlive is "doing it right".


They clearly don't. Go and search for OpenShot or Cinelerra and let me know how many Adobe ads show up.

Actually I can't get an ad to show up for Kdenlive either so I can't test this (maybe region specific?) but I'm guessing it's zero!


Reminds me of GoLive vs. Dreamweaver - or ImageReady vs Fireworks before their Macromedia aquisition... "if you can't beat them, buy them".
