Why would we be scared at all? Until we can trust 100% that AI can take any vague specification from a PM or designer and turn it into bulletproof code that respects the existing code base we are going to need programmers. The difference between that and this version which can only nail leetcode questions feels vast. Like the difference between an AI being able to play Go vs one being able to govern a city.
As I've said countless times in other comments, this is not a shallow job security issue. My post is about how I believe AI will change us as people and society in a much more fundamental way than we may think. In ways we might not have considered. And not all for good.
