Very cool! I searched for it here, and found some comments that imply it's possible to detect these attacks in MD5, but nothing too detailed. Much more advanced than I was thinking, but still hacky enough that it satisfies me!


Yes, the paper linked elsewhere in this thread introduced counter-cryptanalysis, for both MD5 and SHA1:
