That's true. Here in Scandinavia it's quite common. In fact, it was only yesterday an acquaintance shared with me they are being treated for a current infection. They were in good spirits though, and health.


It's so common where I live that my doctor gave me prophylactic doxycycline to take whenever I have a tick bite. I took some last week.


Iirc you have to use the full cycle, and even that isn't guaranteed to work.


The prescription explicitly says to take just two 100mg pills upon noticing a tick bite, and then don't do that again for another week.
