And yet, in the face of megadrought, one finds news like this: https://calmatters.org/environment/2022/05/california-desali... and one finds that CA won't charge market pricing for water used in agriculture.


Was driving through Oxnard and saw miles of sod grass farms. Maybe the most rediculous thing i've ever seen given that there are water restrictions for normal people watering gardens.


A water management board just vetoed a plant in Huntington Beach that would have provided a lot of clean drinking water via desal. Governor supported it, but a coastal environmental agency voted against it. Just ridiculous.


Good, I hope it forces California to set up some nuclear/solar and desalination plant combos and science their way out of this. Austerity is never the answer.
