Sadly, it still does not work with 2 monitors. i.e. attaching a projector for a presentation, all your windows get moved to the projector. can be quite a problem if you are in a meeting. in addition external monitor can only be to the right, since the dash is fixed on the left.

If you want to drag something inside an application to the left side, the dash shows up and blocks the left side of the application. no way to move the dash.

Just two major bugs in terms of usability. ignored for a long time.

I've been using it with two monitors both at home and at work since launch, with zero configuration.

The second issue is certainly annoying, but 'it does not work with two monitors' is a pretty strong claim.

I also have been using two monitors since 11.04 came out. It works great.

What kind of graphics card do you have?

One nVidia and one intel, not that it matters. I'm arguing with his blanket claim that 'it still does not work with 2 monitors', not that there are no driver issues on ubuntu.

Yeah, I think this is highly dependent upon the graphics card and the available drivers -- always run into driver hell with Linux

I switched to using just my monitor when using my laptop at work for this reason. It worked all right in 10.10 for me, but switching to 11.04 caused some issues when having 2 screens at a different res.

As I understood with my googling, it has something to with my laptop's integrated i815 graphics chip (and possibly with the chip itself). I do plan to upgrade to 11.10, but not until after my Monday deadline
