When google announces a new product, the first thing I think about is always when that product will be shut down.

Does Google have a reputation of shuttering their paid products?

On the consumer side of things, they have. Nest guard has been discontinued, and Google play music has been replaced by YouTube music, which lacks some of the features of its predecessor.

This is a free product. They have a reputation for shutting down anything and everything including some paid products.

It's a free feature on GCP. Lots of things on GCP are free, because they're bundled into the overall pricing.

Google maps api got a 7000% price increase. So, not shuttered but....

We were on Google Hire when they shut it down.

Not only that, if they charge and you dispute any payments they might ban your account. (This service requires a credit card )
