A wonderful book, if you're interested in learning regression (or any basic stats) I definitely recommend it.

And then immediately follow up with McElreath's Statistical Rethinking [1] (for which there are freely available lectures [2]).

I get this is a github pages, but isn't this just an ad? I went looking for content (I am a stats nerd and love Gelman's blog). Am I missing something on mobile?

Edit: sure am. They have a link to the pdf of the book. Good stuff!

Click on the "ROS online PDF" link which takes you to: https://users.aalto.fi/~ave/ROS.pdf

Free to view and download for personal use only. Not for re-distribution, re-sale or use in derivative works.

I agree that the link is kind of subtle and easy to miss.

Ah. I missed that. I have the book already and I kept looking for “2nd ed” or “corrections.

Looks like the pdf was updated 1/26/22

I've wanted to read this for a while but I do 97 % of my reading on a Kindle, and the digital version of this is not very Kindle-friendly, sadly.

I'm not new to the subject, but I like to go over the fundamentals from different perspectives to solidify my understanding. Does anyone have recommendations for other books similar to this one that happen to be Kindle-friendly? (There's a chance I've worked through them already, but eh, worth a shot!)

Not Kindle-friendly, but I suspect you're aware of 'Advanced Data Analysis from an Elementary Point of View', Cosma Shalizi [0], PDF available, which seems to parallel the topics here. Have you had a look, and, if so, what do you think?

It's still not released :(

I really want to spend money on this book (which I've read most of twice) but alas, Cosma doesn't appear to prioritise finishing it (I'm sure he's doing more important things, to be fair).
