The upcoming Rockchip RK3588 SoC mentioned here is very promising for an open source friendly product. This SoC is on an 8nm process and is 2-3 times as fast as the 28nm RK3399 used in the PineBook Pro.[1] The RK3588 beats the Samsung Galaxy S9's Snapdragon 845 in a Geekbench 4 comparison.[2]
