why even bother? there is quay, which is way better than dockerhub or the open source integration. and even than there is also harbor, nexus3 and as you mentioned artifactory. ALL of them can be bought with support from way bigger companies than docker inc. so why even bother?! Docker Inc. basically failed by trying to do everything on their own.
