This is the way I do it - you can learn a couple more algorithms to solve parities in larger cubes (4x4x4, 5x5x5, and up).

There are parities in even sided cubes that don't happen in odd sided cubes - I like to keep a 4x4x4 on my desk since it's a good mix of difficulty and time spent solving.
