Russian law: Champagne made in France must be called 'sparkling wine' in Russia (france24.com)

So the boot's on the other foot. <grin>

In every other country except France, it can only be called 'Sparkling Wine', not 'Champagne'.

In Australia, the slang for all sparkling wines, Champagne included, is 'Bubbly': "Three glasses of Bubbly, thanks."
