Can I point out the fact that this article compares software developers to auto workers trying to explain the problem and then highlights failed management strategies as a fact that software development is nothing like manufacturing, saying " and if I ever run a factory, I'm gonna use it! But it has no place in software projects."

I dont disagree with this article in general but please dont contradict yourself.




I don't think he really contradicted himself - what he's saying is that auto workers fell behind because management was trying to manage them like farm workers when they weren't, and that software is falling behind because managers are trying to manage them like factory workers when they aren't.
