Seems like crypto is human nature striking. Be nice if the article propose solutions other than flat our rejection.

There were some pretty interesting points in this screed (mostly the artistic critiques) but I was unconvinced by the criticisms of proof-of-stake. They kinda glossed over that one with a pretty dismissive rant about how Eth2 is taking too long. I mean, I guess? I'd rather they get it right and find a more efficient network. I also wanted to read more about replicating existing structures in the physical art world and issues surrounding an artwork's aura in the digital age. Also, the entire “ah i see you critique capitalism and yet you live in society, how curious” section was completely skippable. Felt like this writer's twitter rage plopped onto the end of an essay for no good reason. A little too much predictable yelling here for my taste, but a few good takeaways for sure.

I thought Ethereum was switching to "proof of stake" and that would solve the wasted power problem. What did I miss?

This is literally addressed in the article. All the other blockchain ideas also reward those with existing, large-scale, wealth in the real world (the way that Proof of Work rewards those that spin the most GPUs)
