I think in this case it’s the opposite. At least back in the day when I worked on this the chrome team (or parts of the team) tried to introduce this feature but it never caught on so now they kill it.

Overall I think this is good. Experiment and try new stuff, but if it doesn’t work out kill it off at some point.
