I used to buy a laptop, try to get Ubuntu or Arch to work and if it didn't work flawlessly I'd take it back.

If Ubuntu doesn't feel like working out of the box on your laptop your in for a world of pain. Now I need a Mac to compile for IOS devices anyway so I ordered an M1 Pro.
