There are plenty of companies that fulfill the needs of their employees and manage to somehow make money ethically. By all means, if someone has no other option than to work for Evil Inc. or otherwise starve, they shouldn't starve. But as software engineers we generally get our pick of where we want to work and in those cases should use it to make the world a better place rather than worse.
