The thing is, the Indian government also plans to implement a National Register of Citizens (NRC) in tandem with this bill where all citizens are supposed to prove that they really are "Indian". This diabolical CAB bill now makes the burden of proof for citizenship criteria only applicable to India's Muslim minority by giving an explicit exemption to all non-Muslims.
So yes the bill is innocuously worded but the intent behind it along with the NRC is registrar is mala fide at best and fascist at worst.
