You don't need any for python, really. You can run pdb in your :term split, which is nice. Other than that you only really get the vim advantage over IDE if you practice.


Autocomplete, autoindentation, and perhaps colors would be nice though!

To me, the main advantage of vim over IDE is it's there on any remote server.


Ctrl-p is the shortcut for 'dumb' autocomplete in vim.


auto indent and syntax highlighting are there by default. Never used autocomplete so can't say.


Afaik there’s basic autocomplete but only if vim was built with the python option enabled.

But then again I use vscode and pycharm in vim mode.


I tried autocomplete in vim for Python a few years back, I forget which plugin. It was annoying, too aggressive. Uninstalled.
